Please read this first. Purohit is an AI astrology guide — nothing more.
Everything Purohit says is generated by artificial intelligence interpreting a Vedic astrological chart. It is offered solely for spiritual reflection, cultural tradition and entertainment. Astrology is a belief system, not a science, and AI output can be wrong, incomplete or misleading.
Purohit's responses are NOT advice. They are not medical, psychological, legal, financial, investment, career, matrimonial, safety or any other kind of professional advice, and they must never be used as the basis for any decision of consequence — about your health, your money, your relationships, your family, or anything else that matters. For real decisions, consult a qualified professional. If you are in distress or crisis, contact a doctor or emergency services, not an astrology app.
By using Purohit you accept full and sole responsibility for anything you do or decide after reading or hearing its responses, and you agree that we bear none.
Terms of Service
1. Acceptance and eligibility
By creating an account or using Purohit you accept these terms. You must be at least 18 years old. If you do not accept these terms, do not use the service.
2. The service, as-is
Purohit is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including accuracy, availability, fitness for any purpose, or that astrological calculations or AI interpretations will be free of errors. The service is currently a free beta: features may change, usage limits apply, and the service (or your access to it) may be modified, suspended or discontinued at any time without notice.
3. No liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Purohit, its creators, operators and affiliates shall have no liability whatsoever for any loss or damage of any kind — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or otherwise, including loss of money, health, opportunity, data or peace of mind — arising from or related to your use of, or reliance on, the service or its responses. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the preceding 12 months (during the free beta: ₹0).
4. Your responsibilities
- Use the service only for personal, lawful, non-commercial purposes.
- Only share birth details of family members with their knowledge and consent.
- Do not attempt to abuse, overload, reverse-engineer or misuse the service.
5. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka.
Privacy Policy
We handle personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000. By using Purohit you consent to the processing described here.
1. What we collect
- Account data: your sign-in identity (Google/Facebook account ID and email address).
- Astrological data you share: names, birth dates, times and places — yours and any family members you mention.
- Conversation data: your chat messages and voice notes, and Purohit's responses.
- Technical data: basic logs needed to run the service (timestamps, usage counts, errors).
2. How we use it
We use your data to provide the service: computing charts, generating readings, remembering your family's kundlis, and converting voice to text and back. We also reserve the right to review and use your data internally for troubleshooting, quality assurance, and the development and improvement of the service. We do not use your data for advertising and we do not build profiles for third parties.
3. Sharing
Your data is private. We never sell it and never share it with third parties for their own purposes. It is processed only by the infrastructure providers we use to run the service — currently Google Cloud (hosting and the Gemini AI model), ElevenLabs (voice), and Supabase (sign-in) — each solely as a processor for us, and it may be disclosed where Indian law requires it. Data may be processed on servers located outside India.
4. Retention and your rights
We keep your data while your account is active. You may at any time request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, or withdraw consent (which ends the service for you), by writing to namaste@purohit.io. This address also serves as our grievance contact under the DPDP Act and IT Rules; we aim to respond within 30 days.
5. Cookies and security
We use only functional cookies (keeping you signed in). We apply reasonable technical measures to protect your data, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
6. Children
Purohit is not intended for and may not be used by anyone under 18.
7. Changes
We may update these terms and this policy; the current version is always at purohit.io/terms. Continued use after a change means acceptance.
