Rama Navami 2038: date and significance

Rama Navami celebrates the birth of Lord Rama, the seventh avatar of Vishnu and the hero of the Ramayana, on the ninth day (Navami) of the bright fortnight of Chaitra, traditionally observed at midday, the hour Rama is said to have been born. It falls on the last day of Chaitra Navaratri. Temples hold recitations of the Ramayana and Rama's life story throughout the preceding nine days, and many observe a fast that is broken only after the midday rituals. The festival is especially significant in North India, where it also marks the close of the spring Navaratri celebrations.
