This year

Next year
11 October 2035

Calculated from: Ashwina Shukla Dashami at Aparahna

Dussehra, also called Vijayadashami, falls on the tenth day (Dashami) of the bright fortnight of Ashwina, the day immediately after Navratri ends, and marks the triumph of good over evil. In North India this most often celebrates Rama's victory over the demon king Ravana, marked with the burning of large Ravana effigies; in Bengal it coincides with the closing day of Durga Puja and the goddess Durga's victory over the buffalo demon Mahishasura. The day is traditionally considered auspicious for starting new ventures and learning.
